What Makes It Special

Bayern Brewing is a Bavarian institution transplanted to the Northern Rockies. Founded in 1987, it is the oldest brewery in Montana and the only Bavarian-style brewery in the entire Rocky Mountain region. Master Brewer Jürgen Knöller, who graduated from Doemens' Masterschool for Brewing and Soft Drink Technology in Munich after nine years of professional training, bought the brewery in 1991 and brought the current master brewer Thorsten Geuer on in 2002 after Geuer's apprenticeship at Hasbro Früh in Cologne and study at VLB Berlin. Every beer is brewed in strict accordance with the Reinheitsgebot, the 1516 Bavarian Purity Law that allows only water, hops, grain, and yeast.
