Experience the charm of Germany at Plattduetsche Park Restaurant & Biergarten, a delightful spot where authentic cuisine and refreshing beers meet in a lush outdoor setting. Perfect for gatherings, it's a slice of Bavaria right in Franklin Square!
Plattduetsche Park is a Long Island institution that traces its lineage back to 1883, when the Plattduetsche Volksfest Vereen of Brooklyn — a society of German immigrants from the flatlands of northern Germany, which is what 'Plattduetsche' refers to — was founded to support newcomers and preserve cultural traditions. When Brooklyn's beer gardens started disappearing in the early 1900s real-estate boom, the society purchased eight acres of farmland in Franklin Square from a German farmer, and the property has been a German-American cultural anchor on Long Island ever since 1901.
