Best Bars to Watch FC Bayern Munich on the US West Coast & Mountain Regions (2026 Edition)

Introduction

Finding the right Bayern Munich bars that West Coast supporters can call home takes more than a quick search. The cities running from Phoenix up through Seattle and east into the Mountain region cover six time zones of weekend kickoffs, two FIFA 2026 World Cup host cities (Los Angeles and Seattle), and a fan-club network that has grown denser every season. This guide profiles 14 venues across 13 cities where FC Bayern Munich fan groups gather for Bundesliga, DFB-Pokal, and Champions League matches, drawn from the official FC Bayern Munich Where to Watch USA directory and verified independently.

I have been running bestsportsbars.net long enough to know that the official directory is a starting point, not an endpoint. Several venues have moved or closed since the directory was last updated, and this edition flags those changes as much as currently possible so you do not show up to a parking lot.

If you spot something that needs updating, leave a comment at the bottom of the post or email the site directly. The whole point is to help fans land in the right room when their team kicks off.

  • Brea, CA (formerly Anaheim): The Phoenix Club
  • Los Angeles, CA: Tom's Watch Bar
  • Santa Monica, CA: Ye Olde King's Head

Coastal California

Pacific Northwest

  • Seattle, WA: Shultzy's Bar & Grill

Two important notes before you start: The Phoenix Club moved from Anaheim to Brea in 2024, but FC Bayern's official Where to Watch USA page still lists the old Anaheim address. Crown & Anchor's Tropicana location closed permanently in July 2024, but the smaller Spring Mountain Road location remains open and continues to host soccer viewings. Both updates are reflected below.

Phoenix, Arizona

Phoenix's German-American community has a small but loyal Bayern Munich following anchored on the city's north side. Edelweiss Biergarten, the family-owned German-Hungarian restaurant on Bell Road, is the natural gathering point. Phoenix sits on Mountain Standard Time year-round, which means Bundesliga's morning kickoffs land at a slightly more civilized hour than they do in Pacific cities, and the desert weather lends itself to outdoor biergarten-style viewing for most of the calendar.

Edelweiss has been Phoenix's authentic German-Hungarian destination for years, family-owned and run with that recognizable European hospitality. Diana handles the kitchen, her husband Arpad oversees the dining room, and the place has the largest selection of German beers on draft and in bottles in Arizona. It is a sit-down restaurant first, with proper old-world plates and the kind of communal energy a Bayern match-day calls for.

Brea, California (Greater Anaheim & Orange County)

Orange County's German-American community has gathered at The Phoenix Club since 1960. The club moved from its longtime Anaheim home in 2024 after the Samueli family purchased the original 7-acre property near the Honda Center for the OC Vibe development. The new Brea location, smaller but still featuring a restaurant, bar, ballroom, and Schützen air-rifle range, opened to members in early April 2024 and to the public soon after. Important note: FC Bayern's official Where to Watch USA page still lists the old 1340 S Sanderson Avenue address in Anaheim. The club has officially relocated.

The Phoenix Club was founded in 1960 by 15 German-American families committed to preserving German, Austrian, and Swiss culture, customs, and language in Orange County. The club's name comes from the mythological bird that rises from the ashes, and the 2024 move from Anaheim to Brea, after the original 7-acre Sanderson Avenue property was sold to the Samueli family for nearly 18 million dollars, fits that origin story neatly. The new Brea facility is a 1,909 square foot cultural center with restaurant, bar, ballroom, and a 10-meter Olympic-style air-rifle range.

San Diego, California

San Diego's North Park neighborhood is one of California's densest craft-beer and bar corridors, and Bluefoot Bar & Lounge anchors that scene for soccer fans. The bar opens at 6am on Saturday and Sunday specifically to handle European football's morning kickoffs, allowing Bayern fans to catch 6:30am Pacific kicks live with coffee or a pint depending on preference. North Park's walkability puts dozens of restaurants, breweries, and bars within easy distance for pre-match or post-match meals.

San Francisco, California

Mia San Francisco, the Official Bayern Munich Fan Club of San Francisco, has gathered at Danny Coyle's in the Lower Haight for years. The Irish pub on Haight Street opens at 10am on Saturdays and Sundays for European football, and the FC Bayern Club of SF runs viewings live or on tape delay starting at 10am for the 6:30am Pacific Time Bundesliga kicks. The Lower Haight setting puts the pub a short walk from Hayes Valley, the Lower Fillmore, and the Haight-Ashbury proper.

The pub also operates an attached Gift Shoppe and Bakery at 132 Santa Monica Boulevard, two doors down from the main pub building.

Ye Olde King's Head was the first bar in the United States to broadcast live English football, beginning in 1990 — that is documented soccer-pub history, not a marketing claim. Past regulars have included Richard Branson (Crystal Palace) and John Lydon (Arsenal), and the pub remains one of LA's most institutionally important soccer venues. For PSG Club LA — which runs rotating watch parties across the LA basin rather than holding a single permanent home — the King's Head is the obvious anchor venue for any future formalised partnership.

Santa Barbara, California

The Press Room has held its position as Santa Barbara's home of soccer since 1995, occupying a small storefront on East Ortega Street between State Street and Anacapa Street in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara. The bar sits across the street from sister pub Dargan's Irish Pub, and the two operate in tandem with food delivered between locations on demand. The Brit-American owner has built a reputation for authentic English-pub atmosphere, and the venue's tagline is unambiguous: 'Home of football(soccer) in SB since 1995.'

Albuquerque, New Mexico

Sunday Service Motor Company is the home of New Mexico Roten, the Bayern Munich fan club for the Albuquerque area. The venue is unusual: it operates simultaneously as a craft coffee shop, a craft beer brewery, and a DIY motorcycle repair space, with all three identities co-existing under one roof at 2701 4th Street NW. Owner Kevin Anderson opened the venue in 2023, and per the Dark Side Brew Crew's January 2025 profile, SSMC has become the regular gathering point for New Mexico Roten on most weekend Bayern match days.

Portland, Oregon (Mississippi Avenue)

Prost! is widely regarded as Portland's best German bier bar, and the Mississippi Avenue location serves as the Pacific Northwest gathering point for FCBayern Pacific Northwest, the regional Bayern Munich fan club. The bar is part of the Prost German Pubs group, which also operates Stammtisch (a sister German pub at 401 NE 28th Avenue) and Interurban (a tavern at 4057 N Mississippi Avenue). Mississippi Avenue is one of Portland's most concentrated bar corridors, with a food cart pod adjacent to Prost! that solves the kitchen question.

Calcio Soccer Bar & Grill is Mia San Portland's home in the historic St. Johns neighborhood of north Portland, sitting on N Ivanhoe Street near the iconic St. Johns Bridge. The bar opened in February 2021 under owner Marian Stoyanchev, and has built a 4.7-rating reputation as Portland's most soccer-dedicated bar. Missoula, Montana

Bayern Brewing, Inc. is one of the most distinctive entries in this guide because the venue carries the Bayern name itself: 'Bayern' is the German word for Bavaria, and the brewery was founded in 1987 by Bavarian immigrants Trudy and Reinhard Schultz alongside Donald Gamer. It is the oldest brewery operating in Montana and the only German brewery in the entire Rocky Mountain region. Master Brewer Jürgen Knöller, a Doemens Munich graduate, purchased the brewery in 1991 and has run it ever since, keeping production strictly within the Reinheitsgebot Bavarian Purity Law of 1516.

Conclusion

That is the verified roster of Bayern Munich bars West Coast and Mountain region supporters can rely on for the 2026 Bundesliga season and beyond. Fourteen primary venues across thirteen cities, plus five additional bars worth knowing for backup viewings, with two critical address corrections (The Phoenix Club from Anaheim to Brea, Crown & Anchor from Tropicana to Spring Mountain Road) that the official FC Bayern Where to Watch USA page has not yet caught up with.

If you are traveling for a Bayern fixture or planning the 2026 FIFA World Cup matches in Los Angeles or Seattle, this guide gives you a reliable starting point. Two of these cities (Phoenix and Las Vegas) sit in the Mountain time zone, four (San Diego, San Francisco, Portland twice, Seattle) sit on Pacific time, and the rest are spread across the Mountain West. That spread means morning Bundesliga kicks land at different local hours depending on where you are watching, so check the schedule for your specific venue's time zone before you set the alarm.

Editorial Notes

Two important corrections to FC Bayern's official Where to Watch USA page are reflected in this guide:

(1) The Phoenix Club has permanently relocated from 1340 S Sanderson Avenue, Anaheim to 375 West Central Avenue, Brea. The Anaheim location closed December 18, 2022; the new Brea location opened in early April 2024. FC Bayern's official page still lists the closed Anaheim address.

(2) Crown & Anchor's flagship location at 1350 East Tropicana Avenue, Las Vegas closed permanently on July 2, 2024. The Spring Mountain Road location at 4755 Spring Mountain Road remains open 24/7 and continues to host Bayern Munich match viewings. FC Bayern's official page still lists the closed Tropicana address.

If you find additional venues that have moved, closed, or changed status, please email bestsportsbars.net or comment below. We update each blog incrementally based on Mia San Mia community feedback and direct venue verification.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Phoenix Club permanently closed its Anaheim location at 1340 S Sanderson Avenue on December 18, 2022, after the Samueli family purchased the 7-acre property for nearly 18 million dollars for the OC Vibe development. The new location at 375 West Central Avenue, Brea, CA 92821 opened in early April 2024 (with a public grand opening August 18, 2024). FC Bayern's official Where to Watch USA page still lists the old Anaheim address; the Brea address is the current correct one. The phone number remains (714) 563-4166.

The original Crown & Anchor at 1350 East Tropicana Avenue closed permanently on July 2, 2024, after nearly 30 years. The smaller Spring Mountain Road location at 4755 Spring Mountain Road, Las Vegas, NV 89102 (locally known as 'Little Crown & Anchor Pub'), originally opened in 2008, remains open 24/7 and continues to serve as the Bayern Munich and broader European football supporters' watch venue. A new Irish bar called The Irish Spot is preparing to open in the former Tropicana space in late 2025 or early 2026.

Bundesliga's standard Saturday kickoffs at 3:30pm German time land at 6:30am Pacific Time and 7:30am Mountain Time. Most venues in this guide that host Bayern viewings open early specifically for European football: Bluefoot San Diego opens 6am weekends, Danny Coyle's San Francisco opens 10am weekends (with FC Bayern Club of SF gathering at 10am Saturdays and 9am Sundays for tape-delayed viewings of the 6:30am match), The Celtic on Market Denver opens 10:30am weekends, and Calcio Soccer Bar Portland opens 6am to 7am for early European football. Always confirm specific match coverage via the venue or the supporter group's social channels.

Of the cities profiled in this guide, Los Angeles and Seattle are 2026 FIFA World Cup host cities. Tom's Watch Bar in LA Live and Shultzy's Bar & Grill in Seattle's University District will be especially busy during the June and July 2026 tournament window. Mexico's host cities (Guadalajara, Monterrey, Mexico City) and Canada's host cities (Toronto, Vancouver) are not covered in this guide; see other entries in the Bayern Munich Bar Series for those regions. The 2026 World Cup angle adds a layer of soccer-pub energy across the entire West Coast.

Yes, every venue in this guide is a soccer-priority venue beyond Bayern Munich. The Celtic on Market in Denver hosts more than 12 supporter clubs including Arsenal, West Ham, FC Barcelona, and others. Smithfield Hall NYC and Tom's Watch Bar LA both maintain relationships with multiple supporter groups. Crown & Anchor Las Vegas hosts Crystal Palace, Everton, and Newcastle supporters. The Press Room Santa Barbara is generally soccer-priority. Calcio Soccer Bar Portland serves all major leagues. If your secondary team plays during a Bayern open weekend, most of these venues will accommodate.

FC Bayern Munich's official Where to Watch USA page at fcbayern.com/en/fans/fan-clubs/us-where-to-watch lists fan clubs and venues by city. Always cross-reference that listing with the venue's current operating status (the FC Bayern page tends to lag closures and relocations by 12 to 24 months). Yelp and Google My Business are the most reliable open-or-closed verification, and the supporter clubs themselves typically post matchday schedules on Facebook groups (search 'FC Bayern [city]' or 'Mia San [city]') and Instagram.

Bundesliga's mid-week matches (typically Tuesday through Thursday for DFB-Pokal and Champions League) usually kick off at 8:45pm German time, which is 11:45am Pacific and 12:45pm Mountain Time. That timing falls during normal lunch and afternoon hours at every venue in this guide, so no special early-open arrangement is needed for mid-week European fixtures. Weekend Bundesliga is the unusual scheduling; mid-week is convenient.
